American Resort Development Association (ARDA) released two advisories to help consumers and timeshare owners navigate through the secondary market, which includes timeshare resellers, internet advertisers and other resale companies, to ensure a safe and positive selling experience. The advisories were developed to help dispel the growing misinformation and confusion in the secondary marketplace by providing specific tips on reviewing timeshare resale companies, their practices, costs and services in the marketplace.

“We are witnessing a strong growth in affiliations this year, and several destinations are being added. As against 5 properties that were affiliated in the country last year we are targeting 15 this year, and we are adding a number of new destinations as well”, RCI managing director Radhika Shastry told ET.

Group RCI has conducted an in-depth study of the patterns and trends occurring in the timeshare industry.

The study takes a closer look at the status of the industry and its busiest areas. The main topic will be the supply and demand of timeshares.

It will show areas, where timeshares and timesharing have been limited and where it has been sufficiently present.

The Alternative Ownership Conference for Hotels and Resorts – Asia Pacific (AOCAP) will be held October 12 -13, 2009 at Millennium Resort Patong, Phuket, Thailand.
